Mellbreak and Scale Force Waterfall

Mellbreak is a fell in the Lake District of Cumbria, England. It is part of the western fells and rises from the Loweswater Valley to a height of 642 metres.

The summit affords spectacular views of the surrounding area, including the nearby Buttermere and Crummock Water. Buttermere is a small lake in the same area of Cumbria. It is one of the most photographed spots in the Lake District, and is popular with walkers and anglers alike. It is encircled by the fells of Grasmoor, Red Pike, High Stile and Haystacks, and is connected to Crummock Water by a short river.

After descending Mellbreak we will approve Scale Force Waterfall, located within the Buttermere Valley and is the highest waterfall in the Lake District. It is a popular spot with visitors, who come to admire its spectacular 30 metre drop. The waterfall is accessible either by a steep climb to the top or by a shorter, flatter walk up the valley side. Its serene beauty is a sight to behold and its cascading waters make for a tranquil atmosphere.
